[2023 Asset Disclosure] Yoo Jeong-bok, Mayor of Incheon, 1.47 Billion KRW... Ranked 14th Among Metropolitan Leaders

Incheon Mayor Yoo Jung-bok reported assets worth over 1.4 billion KRW, including housing and deposits. He ranks 14th among 17 metropolitan leaders.


According to the 2023 regular asset change report for public officials published in the government gazette by the Government Official Ethics Committee on the 30th, Mayor Yoo reported assets totaling 1,478,610,000 KRW, an increase of 24,890,000 KRW from the previous report.


The assets include buildings worth 2,937,000,000 KRW, deposits of 192,310,000 KRW, and debts amounting to 1,675,310,000 KRW. One child refused to disclose assets citing independent livelihood reasons.


Deputy Mayor Park Deok-su reported 3,309,660,000 KRW, and Deputy Mayor for Balanced Development Lee Haeng-sook reported 780,000,000 KRW.

Additionally, Heo Sik, Chairman of the Incheon City Council, reported 592,400,000 KRW; Lee Byung-rok, Chairman of the Incheon Autonomous Police Committee, reported 2,779,770,000 KRW; Ban Byung-wook, Secretary General of the Autonomous Police Committee, reported 273,550,000 KRW; and Kim Jin-yong, Head of the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority, reported 965,540,000 KRW.


Among the heads of basic local governments in Incheon, Kim Chan-jin, Mayor of Dong-gu, reported the highest assets at 6,330,000,000 KRW.


Following him are Yoon Hwan, Mayor of Gyeyang-gu, with 5,590,000,000 KRW; Lee Jae-ho, Mayor of Yeonsu-gu, with 1,710,000,000 KRW; Kang Beom-seok, Mayor of Seo-gu, with 1,580,000,000 KRW; Yoo Cheon-ho, County Governor of Ganghwa, with 1,500,000,000 KRW; Lee Young-hoon, Mayor of Michuhol-gu, with 1,470,000,000 KRW; Kim Jeong-heon, Mayor of Jung-gu, with 1,120,000,000 KRW; Moon Kyung-bok, County Governor of Ongjin, with 1,070,000,000 KRW; Park Jong-hyo, Mayor of Namdong-gu, with 780,000,000 KRW; and Cha Jun-taek, Mayor of Bupyeong-gu, with 750,000,000 KRW.


Do Seong-hoon, Superintendent of Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education, is not included among Incheon’s high-ranking officials as the education office is a separate institution, but his reported assets amount to 397,130,000 KRW.


Meanwhile, Incheon City disclosed the asset details and changes of a total of 129 individuals, including 123 local district council members and 6 heads of public-related organizations under the city, through the city bulletin, separate from the Government Official Ethics Committee’s asset disclosure.


The average assets of these 129 individuals are 870,000,000 KRW, an increase of 23,000,000 KRW compared to the previous report.


The Incheon City Official Ethics Committee plans to complete the asset review by June. If the review finds false or grossly negligent misreporting or acquisition of financial benefits using confidential information obtained through official duties, follow-up disciplinary actions such as fines or dismissal will be taken in accordance with the Public Official Ethics Act.
