On the 27th (local time), the British daily newspaper The Telegraph reported that the Donorkind Foundation, a Dutch children's rights advocacy group for children born through sperm donation, has filed a civil lawsuit against Dutch man Jonathan Jacob Meyer (41), demanding the cessation of his sperm donations. The reason cited is that his continuous sperm donations have resulted in 550 children, increasing the risk of incest.

Meyer is known to have donated sperm since 2007 through infertility clinics and websites in several European countries, including the Netherlands, Denmark, and Ukraine.

The Donorkind Foundation has counted that Meyer donated sperm consecutively to 13 hospitals, resulting in at least 550 children born. The Netherlands prohibits a single man from fathering more than 25 children through sperm donation.

The Dutch Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology (NVOG) confirmed that Meyer donated sperm at 10 infertility clinics in the country in 2017, fathering 102 children, and placed him on a blacklist.

Tijs Vandermeir, chairman of the Donorkind Foundation, stated, "He is also dealing with large international sperm banks," and added, "The government did nothing, so we took action."
