The assets of Lee Chang-yong, Governor of the Bank of Korea, were reported to be approximately 4.748 billion KRW.


According to the 2023 regular asset disclosure report for high-ranking public officials released on the 30th by the Government Public Officials Ethics Committee through the official gazette, Governor Lee reported assets totaling 4.7484 billion KRW.


The assets decreased by about 410 million KRW due to the exclusion of assets belonging to his mother and second daughter for reasons such as supporting others and maintaining independent livelihoods.


The buildings owned by Governor Lee and his spouse include commercial properties in Nonsan-si, Chungnam (120.9 million KRW), an apartment in Yeoksam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul (1.573 billion KRW), a leasehold right for an officetel in Munjeong-dong, Songpa-gu (30 million KRW), and a leasehold right for a multi-family house in Itaewon-dong, Yongsan-gu (950 million KRW), totaling 2.6739 billion KRW.


In addition, he reported assets worth 1.1857 billion KRW, including forest land and a river in Gumi-si, Gyeongbuk.


Deposits held amounted to 925.5 million KRW, with 619.6 million KRW in his name, 229.8 million KRW in his spouse’s name, and 76.1 million KRW in his eldest son’s name. After acquiring the leasehold right for the Itaewon-dong residence, his deposits decreased by about 600 million KRW, while his building assets increased by over 1 billion KRW.


Additionally, he reported 74.3 million KRW in bonds held by his spouse and 140 million KRW in personal debts. The debts include private loans (60 million KRW) and a rental deposit for a property in Hwaji-dong, Nonsan-si, Chungcheongnam-do (80 million KRW).


His copyright assets include co-authored works with Professor Lee Joon-gu of Seoul National University’s Department of Economics, such as "Principles of Economics" and "Introduction to Economics."


Assets of his mother (785.9 million KRW) and second daughter (9.3 million KRW) were excluded from registration due to refusal to disclose.


Lee Seung-heon, Deputy Governor of the Bank of Korea, reported assets totaling 1.6967 billion KRW, an increase of 152.8 million KRW.


Among the members of the Monetary Policy Committee, including the Governor and Deputy Governor of the Bank of Korea, the member with the highest assets is Seo Young-kyung, who reported 6.719 billion KRW. Her assets increased by 762.1 million KRW over the past year. She owns land such as a site in Yeoksam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul (887.6 million KRW) and buildings including an apartment in Dogok-dong, Gangnam-gu (2.6682 billion KRW) under her and her spouse’s names.


Member Cho Yoon-je reported assets of 6.3546 billion KRW, a decrease of about 450.7 million KRW compared to a year ago. He and his spouse reported land such as a site in Pyeongchang-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul (1.2086 billion KRW), a detached house in Bukahyeon-dong, Seodaemun-gu, Seoul (2.721 billion KRW), and deposits (2.3843 billion KRW).


Also, Member Joo Sang-young, a former professor at Konkuk University, reported assets of 5.1081 billion KRW, an increase of over 600 million KRW. Member Park Ki-young, a former professor at Yonsei University, reported assets of 3.0186 billion KRW, increasing by more than 500 million KRW.


Member Shin Sung-hwan, a former professor at Hongik University, reported assets totaling 4.6435 billion KRW.
