Health and Welfare Minister Cho Kyu-hong reported assets worth 2,682,240,000 KRW this year.
According to the 2023 regular asset change report for public officials, released on the 30th by the Government Ethics Committee for Public Officials through the official gazette, Minister Cho declared his apartment in Dodam-dong, Sejong City (454,000,000 KRW), a leasehold right on an apartment in Seocho-gu, Seoul under his spouse's name, and a leasehold right on an officetel in Osong, Cheongju, Chungbuk. A vehicle jointly owned by him and his spouse (10,680,000 KRW) was also included.
The total deposits under the names of Minister Cho, his spouse, and eldest daughter amount to 1,554,240,000 KRW. There are no stocks under Minister Cho or his spouse's names, but listed stocks worth 44,810,000 KRW under the eldest daughter's name were reported. Minister Cho's assets decreased by 133,530,000 KRW compared to the previous year due to a decline in real estate prices, withdrawal of matured deposits, exclusion of his mother's assets from the report (due to support by others), and other factors.
First Vice Minister of Health and Welfare Lee Ki-il reported assets worth 3,542,210,000 KRW, an increase of 359,220,000 KRW from the previous year due to the rise in value of his apartment in Gwacheon, Gyeonggi Province, and the new acquisition of a leasehold right on an officetel in Jongno-gu, Seoul under his eldest son's name.
Second Vice Minister Park Min-su reported assets worth 805,360,000 KRW, a decrease of 175,980,000 KRW from the previous year due to the exclusion of his mother's assets from registration.
Kim Tae-hyun, President of the National Pension Service, reported assets worth 2,455,780,000 KRW. The assets of former National Health Insurance Service President Kang Do-tae and former Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service President Kim Seon-min, who recently retired, were reported as 1,962,650,000 KRW and 1,611,910,000 KRW respectively.
Among heads of public institutions under the Ministry of Health and Welfare, Cha Sang-hoon, Chairman of the Osong Advanced Medical Industry Promotion Foundation, reported the highest assets at 15,376,390,000 KRW. This ranks eighth among public officials subject to disclosure in central government ministries.
Food and Drug Safety Minister Oh Yu-kyung's assets remain almost unchanged from a year ago at 5,849,280,000 KRW.
Jiyoungmi, Director of the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency, who took office last December, reported assets of 5,203,530,000 KRW through occasional disclosures. Kim Hyun-jun, Deputy Director of the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency, reported assets worth 828,220,000 KRW.
