Senior police officials at the rank of Chief Superintendent and above subject to asset disclosure were found to possess an average of approximately 1.7 billion KRW in assets.

According to the asset disclosure announced on the 30th by the Government Public Officials Ethics Committee, Police Commissioner Yoon Hee-geun reported assets worth 1.19343 billion KRW, including a jeonse right on an apartment in Bongcheon-dong, Gwanak-gu, Seoul, under his name, as well as bank deposits.

Deputy Commissioner Jo Ji-ho reported assets worth 2.28142 billion KRW, including an apartment in Songpa-dong, Songpa-gu, Seoul, under his name, and bank deposits.

New National Investigation Headquarters Chief Woo Jong-su reported assets worth 1.61052 billion KRW, including a mixed-use residential and commercial building jointly owned with his spouse and bank deposits.

Seoul Police Commissioner Kim Kwang-ho held assets totaling 2.98378 billion KRW, combining an apartment in Daechi-dong, Gangnam-gu, owned by himself and his spouse, as well as bank deposits and real estate under his name. Chungnam Police Commissioner Yoo Jae-sung had the smallest amount at 474.1 million KRW.

The highest asset reporter was Yoon Seung-young, Director of the Investigation Bureau at the National Investigation Headquarters. He owned assets worth 5.7804 billion KRW, including an apartment in Seocho-dong, Seocho-gu, Seoul, four multi-family houses, and bank deposits under his name. Among the 36 police officials subject to asset disclosure, five were multi-homeowners (including spouses).

Meanwhile, the average assets of 36 senior police officials at the rank of Chief Superintendent and above were 1.77387 billion KRW. This represents an increase of about 200 million KRW compared to last year’s average of 1.57063 billion KRW (37 officials subject to disclosure).
