Hyundai Motor's 'Kingsanjik' Document Pass Confirmation Also "Waiting"... Server Overheated Due to Surge in Accesses

Portal Access Errors Due to Flood of Applicants
Job Posting Views Reach 300,000
Recruitment That Drew 'National Interest'

The Hyundai Motor Group recruitment portal website, which attracted national attention by announcing the hiring of 400 new technical (production) workers for the first time in 10 years, experienced access disruptions on the day of the results announcement. This was due to the portal server overheating as many applicants tried to check their document screening results.

As of the 29th, when accessing the Hyundai Motor recruitment portal, a message indicating 'Waiting to connect' appears. This phenomenon occurs temporarily when there are many users trying to connect, meaning that once all the people who attempted to connect earlier are connected, new users can enter the portal. The number of people waiting is reported to be in the hundreds.

Earlier, Hyundai Motor announced on the 2nd that it would hire 400 new production workers. The eligibility criteria were high school graduates or above, with no age or gender restrictions, which was an unprecedented condition.

Document submission was conducted over 11 days from the 2nd to the 12th, and applicants who passed the document screening were scheduled to undergo the first interview, aptitude test, second interview, and physical examination by the end of June. The final successful candidates were to be announced in July.

The successful candidates announced on the 29th are those who passed the document screening. Only those who passed the document submission stage are qualified to participate in the interviews and aptitude tests continuing through June.

On social networking services (SNS) and online communities, posts sharing test results have already been uploaded by netizens. One netizen expressed regret, saying, "I failed the document screening," and added, "I never thought my qualifications were lacking, but it seems the competition rate for Hyundai Motor production worker recruitment was beyond imagination."

In some communities, posts titled 'Hyundai Motor Production Worker Successful Candidate Specs' have been shared, describing qualifications such as graduation from a junior college mechanical engineering department, a GPA of 4.4, possession of four industrial engineer certificates, three technician certificates, and five years of experience in petrochemicals.

The recruitment portal was paralyzed, and the number of views on the recruitment announcement posted on Hyundai Motor's website surpassed 300,000. There were reports that not only job seekers but also office workers and current public officials submitted applications. Various online bookstores saw recruitment exam preparation workbooks become bestsellers.

In particular, Hyundai Motor production jobs are regarded as a coveted position called 'Kingsanjik (King + Production Job)' among domestic skilled and labor workers.
