Foreign Minister Reports Assets Worth 2.9 Billion Won

Foreign Minister Park Jin reported assets totaling 2,912,580,000 KRW.

According to the high-ranking public officials' asset registration details disclosed on the electronic gazette by the Government Ethics Committee on the 29th, Minister Park jointly owns a multi-family house in Dongsung-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul (1,119,000,000 KRW) and an apartment in Ichon-dong, Yongsan-gu (1,080,000,000 KRW) with his spouse.

The 20,000,000 KRW deposit for the officetel in Jagok-dong, Gangnam-gu, where he lived on a lease, was refunded upon moving into the official residence. Minister Park had lived in Gangnam, his electoral district, while running in the 2020 general election, and recovered the lease deposit after moving into the official residence.

Minister Park reported bank deposits of 233,980,000 KRW in his name. His spouse reported bank deposits of 395,229,000 KRW, a 2013 Kia K7 vehicle (4,630,000 KRW), and 187g of 24K gold (15,950,000 KRW).

In addition, Minister Park’s spouse reported a diamond ring (10,300,000 KRW), a brooch (5,000,000 KRW), and a violin (70,000,000 KRW). Their eldest son refused to disclose his assets, citing independent livelihood reasons.
