The DrinKit editor frequently visits convenience stores. Every time they visit, they leave the store excitedly thinking, "This is a new product, yay!" However, recently, new products have been less noticeable compared to before, so they always leave the convenience store feeling a bit disappointed. But! After a long time, they finally encountered some new products and decided to share honest reviews along with tastings. Potato Chip Yeopddeok Original Flavor

When stressed and craving something delicious, especially something spicy, I order Yeopgi Tteokbokki (hereafter Yeopddeok) without a second thought. As someone who likes Yeopddeok and prefers potato chips as a snack when drinking beer casually, the Potato Chip Yeopgi Tteokbokki Original flavor raised my expectations. After tasting it, my one-line review was, "Where is the Yeopddeok flavor?" The first bite was intensely spicy. Looking closely, the potato chips were heavily seasoned, but it felt more spicy than salty. However, the unique flavor of Yeopddeok was completely missing, which was disappointing. As I kept eating, it could simply be defined as very spicy potato chips. Still, for those who like spicy flavors and potato chips, it probably won't be a big dislike. However, for those sensitive to spice, I recommend sticking to regular potato chips as a snack.

Billow Cream Canele

Still deeply into ? Me too! The Billow Cream Canele was created through a collaboration between the cozy cafe Billow and GS25 convenience store. This product gained even more love as cast member Jeong Hyun-gyu participated in the project. When you think of canele, you naturally imagine the vertical ridged, volcano-shaped pastry, but this canele is uniquely donut-shaped. Also, it has cream in the center, which differentiates it from regular canele. There are three flavors: Original, Earl Grey, and Chocolate. Starting with Earl Grey, the flavor is quite strong. Earl Grey lovers will definitely not dislike it. The Original flavor tastes like milk cream with caramel added. It is very sweet from aroma to taste, even sweeter than the chocolate flavor, which I expected to be the sweetest. Lastly, the chocolate flavor tasted different from the first two; rather than creamy, it had a dense texture like a brownie that leaves teeth marks. Overall, canele boasts a crispy exterior and a chewy interior. The average price for one canele is about 3,000 KRW, but Billow canele sold at GS25 is 3,500 KRW for two. They feel small because they are flat, but considering the convenience store quality, it’s not bad.

Vegetarian Ddungcaron

Macaron lovers, pay attention! Many say the quality of convenience store ready meals and snacks has improved, but I didn’t expect it to be this good... Available flavors include Vanilla, Yellow Cheese, Chocolate, and Cr?me Br?l?e, and I tried the Cr?me Br?l?e. True to its name, the filling alone is 4cm thick. The top part has melted sugar, giving both texture and sweetness. If you think it might be greasy because of the large amount of filling, think again. It’s not greasy at all and pairs well with the chewy and crispy shell. This flavor makes me look forward to trying the others, and among the new convenience store products introduced today, it deserves the highest score. Priced at 2,000 KRW each, if you suddenly crave a macaron, don’t search for nearby cafes?just rush to GS25.

Yonsei Milk Yellow Cheese Fresh Cream Bread

Yonsei Milk’s continuous new product launches make me curious how long this will continue. Recently released flavors include Yellow Cheese Fresh Cream and Salty Caramel Fresh Cream. I chose the Yellow Cheese Fresh Cream, which I expect will have strong likes and dislikes. The biggest advantage of Yonsei Milk bread is the generous amount of cream, making it quite heavy. The bread dough wrapping it is chewy but has the downside of lacking moisture. Yonsei Milk Yellow Cheese Fresh Cream Bread is made by mixing plant-based cream and processed milk cream, and the cheese flavor comes from a blend of natural and processed cheese. So, how does it taste? First, it passes. Honestly, before opening and cutting the bread in half, I was skeptical because there was no pungent cheese smell, so I thought the flavor would be mild. However, the taste was different. The more you eat the soft cream and chewy bread dough, the more the salty and savory flavors intensify. The cream alone might seem mild, but when eaten with the cheddar cheese underneath, it naturally reminds you of Ppotto.
