Sampyo Jeong Inwook Academic Foundation Promotes Forest Science Development and Future Talent Cultivation

Jung In-wook Academic Scholarship Foundation, a scholarship foundation of Sampyo Group, announced on the 28th that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Korean Forest Science Society to promote the development of forest science and nurture future talents.

The MOU signing ceremony held on the 22nd at the National Institute of Forest Science was attended by Woo Soo-young, president of the Korean Forest Science Society and professor at the University of Seoul; Lee Seok-woo, vice president and head of the Forest Environment Conservation Research Department at the National Institute of Forest Science; Park Young-dae, chairman of the Education System Committee and professor at Daegu University; Kim Ji-soo, secretary general of the Secretariat; and officials from the Jung In-wook Academic Scholarship Foundation.

This agreement was prompted by the joint planning and operation of the "2022 Forest Pioneer Scholarship Project" by both organizations, which supported scholarship students conducting technical research in the forestry field. The goal is to achieve two objectives: nurturing talents who will contribute to the advancement of domestic forest science and encouraging excellent academic and practical research.

The Jung In-wook Academic Scholarship Foundation supports scholarship projects and practical technical research in the forestry and forest products sectors. The Korean Forest Science Society plans to promote various cooperative projects such as scholarship project evaluation and consultation, conducting research services, and seminars for the development of forestry and forest products fields.

Yoo Yong-jae, secretary general of the Jung In-wook Academic Scholarship Foundation, stated, "Through this MOU, we will elevate the level of forest science and technology in Korea to a higher level and contribute to Korea's advancement as a leading country in forestry."
