Songpa Book Museum to Operate Four Educational Programs for Class Groups Until July
▲Invitation to Fairy Tale Village ▲Wagle Wagle, Time Travel ▲Knowing Songpa Well, Growing Together ▲Exciting Challenge, Booktuber
Songpa-gu (Mayor Seo Gang-seok) announced that from March to July, the Songpa Book Museum will operate four educational programs for class groups to welcome the new semester.
The district has prepared special educational programs so that young children, elementary and middle school students can enjoy various exhibitions at the Songpa Book Museum themed around books with their friends.
This education is divided by age group into four experiential programs: ▲‘Invitation to Fairy Tale Village’ ▲‘Wagle Wagle, Time Travel’ ▲‘Knowing Songpa Well, Growing Together’ ▲‘Exciting Challenge, Booktuber’.
First, ‘Invitation to Fairy Tale Village’ is a ‘Bookium’ program for children aged 6 to 7, offering experiential education to learn world classic fairy tales through joyful imagination and various senses. Through role-playing as characters in the fairy tales, children can develop creativity and imagination.
‘Wagle Wagle, Time Travel’ is an educational program linked to the ongoing special exhibition ‘Welcome to Joseon ? Stories Left in Books from Joseon.’ It targets elementary school students in grades 3 to 6, with a storyline where children travel back in time to Joseon and must complete missions to return to the present. Through group escape room games in the exhibition hall such as ‘Complete the Joseon Exploration Report!’ and ‘Making a Time Traveler’s Badge,’ participants can understand the history and culture of Joseon.
Also, ‘Knowing Songpa Well, Growing Together,’ designed for 3rd graders in elementary school, is planned as part of Songpa-gu’s community curriculum. By discovering treasured places related to books in their neighborhood, children can cultivate a deeper affection and love for their hometown.
‘Exciting Challenge, Booktuber’ is a career experience program for middle and high school students to explore book-related professions. The program, themed around the neologism ‘Booktuber’ (a combination of book and YouTuber), offers participating youth the opportunity to plan and produce video content themselves and reflect on their aptitudes and career paths.
Class groups wishing to participate can apply online through the Songpa Book Museum website, with programs available Tuesday through Friday at designated times each week.
The Songpa Book Museum also operates weekend educational programs for families centered on picture books and offers various attractions including permanent and special exhibitions.
Seo Gang-seok, Mayor of Songpa-gu, said, “We have prepared experiential programs that children and youth can enjoy for the new semester,” adding, “I hope the Songpa Book Museum becomes a ‘book playground’ where our children can freely nurture their imagination.”

Mapo-gu (Mayor Park Kang-su) announced it will hold an ‘Environmental Conservation Drawing Contest’ to commemorate the 28th Environment Day (June 5).
This year’s theme is ‘The Carbon Zero Mapo I Dream of, Green City Mapo,’ inviting participants to express various ideas to respond to the climate crisis through watercolor paintings, posters, comic strips, and other artworks.
Students attending elementary and middle schools in Mapo-gu and youth aged 7 to 15 residing in Mapo-gu are eligible to submit one work per person. The submission period is from March 27 to April 21, and works can be sent by mail or delivered in person to the Clean Environment Division on the 10th floor of Mapo-gu Office.
Submitted works will be evaluated by external experts, with results announced in May. Awardees will receive certificates and have their works exhibited and published in a collection.
Detailed information about the contest is available on the Mapo-gu website or through the Clean Environment Division.
Mayor Park Kang-su said, “Our children live in the environment we nurture today,” adding, “I hope the pure and creative drawings of students deeply convey the importance of environmental conservation to residents and inspire everyone to join together toward a carbon-zero Mapo.”
Carbon zero means achieving net zero emissions of carbon dioxide, which causes global warming. Mapo-gu is implementing various environmental conservation projects such as the ‘Home Eco-friendly Boiler Support Project’ and the ‘Mapo Sunset Eco Camp’ to promote a carbon-zero environment.
