Yongin 'Giheung ICT Valley' Advanced Industrial Complex to be Completed on the 28th

An advanced industrial complex that will lead the future industries of Yongin, along with the 'Platform City' in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province, has been established in the downtown area of Giheung-gu.

Yongin City announced on the 28th that it has approved the completion of the 'Giheung ICT Valley' urban advanced industrial complex, located at 681 Gugal-dong, Giheung-gu. This marks the completion of the project seven years after the industrial complex plan was approved in 2017.

Giheung ICT Valley covers a site area of 42,373㎡ and consists of three buildings including a knowledge industry center and support facilities, with 6 basement floors and 29 above-ground floors (total floor area of 217,740㎡).

SNK Co., Ltd. and three other companies invested 50 billion KRW in the project.

Following the completion of Section 1 (39,610㎡), which includes industrial and mixed-use land, in 2021, Section 2 (2,762㎡) of the mixed-use land has now been completed.

Currently, 373 companies such as SD Biosensor, EK, and WithMax have moved in. In addition, promising companies leading future industries such as Information Technology (IT), Communication Technology (CT), and Biotechnology (BT), as well as education, culture, and bio companies, will be housed here.

A city official stated, "With many advanced companies concentrating in Yongin, centered on the semiconductor industry, the establishment of an urban advanced industrial complex in the downtown area adjacent to Platform City will strengthen the city's competitiveness. We will actively provide administrative support to attract a variety of advanced industries such as computer-related fields and research and development sectors, so that citizens can enjoy a convenient live-work environment."
