Gwangju Metropolitan City Buk-gu will hold the ‘2023 Cheongnyeom The(The) Kiwoomdan General Countermeasure Meeting’ on the 28th to realize a transparent Buk-gu that residents and public officials can feel.
The Cheongnyeom Kiwoomdan is a temporary organization newly established last year to serve as the control tower for integrity measures. This year, the organization will be regularized with a change of the head and an expansion of members, and will begin full-scale operation.
At the countermeasure meeting, attended by Moon In, the head of Buk-gu, along with the deputy head and 21 department heads, they will discuss improvement directions and action tasks for vulnerable areas by department identified based on last year’s integrity evaluation results conducted by the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission.
In addition, they will review the progress of the ‘2023 Comprehensive Anti-Corruption and Integrity Improvement Measures,’ consisting of 28 tasks in four major areas: ▲building anti-corruption infrastructure ▲resident-centered transparent administration ▲mutual respect in the public service ▲strengthening anti-corruption and integrity capabilities.
Buk-gu plans to conduct monthly integrity satisfaction surveys for civil petitioners, improve dissatisfaction responses through the operation of the Integrity Dispatch Team, and conduct integrity surveys using the KakaoTalk channel to listen to the voices of residents at any time.
Furthermore, Buk-gu will focus on fostering integrity awareness in daily life for public officials through customized integrity lectures by rank, integrity education for those in charge of corruption-vulnerable tasks, and integrity focus weeks, as well as promoting policies where senior officials lead by example and conducting intergenerational communication education to create a healthy organizational culture.
Moon In, head of Buk-gu, said, “We will strive to realize a transparent Buk-gu that residents and public officials can feel through the implementation of strong anti-corruption and integrity measures reflecting the strong will of the institution’s head.”
Meanwhile, Buk-gu received a grade 2 in the ‘2022 Public Institution Comprehensive Integrity Evaluation’ conducted by the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission, and notably, it was the only autonomous district nationwide to receive the highest grade 1 in the ‘Integrity Effort’ category.
