The police are focusing on the possibility of hacking in their investigation of the incident in which medical treatment and procedure videos were leaked from a plastic surgery clinic in Gangnam, Seoul.
A Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency official stated at a press briefing on the 27th, "We believe it is highly likely that there was an external intrusion," adding, "This is our assumption based on technical analysis." Regarding whether the intrusion occurred domestically or internationally, the official said, "We need to analyze the Internet Protocol (IP) records further to determine that."
Regarding the fortune teller Cheongong, who is suspected of involvement in the relocation of the presidential residence to Yongsan, it is known that the investigation schedule is being coordinated. A police official said, "We have secured and are analyzing the Ministry of National Defense's access records," adding, "We continue to request his appearance, but the attendance, date, and method have not yet been decided."
Regarding Park Kyung-seok, co-representative of the National Solidarity for the Elimination of Discrimination against Persons with Disabilities, the official said, "He was arrested on the 17th, investigated, and released on the 18th," adding, "Future investigations will proceed according to law and procedure." Park is under investigation for allegedly violating the Assembly and Demonstration Act by holding protests guaranteeing mobility rights in various parts of downtown Seoul, causing train delays and occupying roads.
Regarding the investigation into illegal activities at construction sites involving the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions (KCTU), it was revealed that documents related to union member recruitment, meeting materials, and mobile phones seized from three locations, including the Northern Metropolitan Regional Headquarters under the KCTU Construction Union, on the 14th are being analyzed.
The police are also conducting a pre-indictment investigation (internal inquiry) into former National Intelligence Service Director Park Ji-won, who is suspected of abuse of power and obstruction of the exercise of rights. Earlier, the National Intelligence Service requested an investigation by the Seoul Police Agency on the 17th regarding allegations that former Director Park exerted pressure during the replacement of Won Hoon-seok in 2021. A police official explained, "We are conducting a pre-indictment investigation following the investigation request."
