The 'Bugih? Campaign' is underway to add excitement to the bid for the 2030 Busan World Expo at Busan's representative tourist facilities, Songdo Marine Cable Car and Haeundae Blueline Park.

Busan City will operate 20 cabins of the Songdo Marine Cable Car and 20 Sky Capsules of Haeundae Blueline Park as 'Bugih?' supporting the bid for the 2030 Busan World Expo for about three months until June 30.

The 'Bugih?' features a wrapping design with Busan's new brand slogan 'Busan is good' combined with EXPO, delivering the supportive message 'Busan is good for EXPO,' along with 'Bugi,' Busan City's communication character and mascot of the 2030 Busan World Expo, who is actively promoting the bid not only domestically but also globally, including in Paris along the Seine River.

In particular, to emphasize that the 2030 Busan World Expo will be Korea's first World Expo, the wrapping design of 'Bugih?' incorporates nine types of Korean traditional design elements centered around the 'flower palanquin' motif.

Along with operating 'Bugih?,' the city will intensively conduct a support campaign targeting domestic and international tourists for about a month as part of the 'Bugih? Campaign.'

This campaign is being promoted nationwide in collaboration with the Korea Tourism Organization.

The campaign includes ▲ Bugih? certification event (3.24?4.30), ▲ 2030 Busan World Expo support comment event (3.24?4.30), and ▲ Bugih? promotional booth operation (4.1?4.9), mobilizing both online and offline channels to fuel the enthusiasm for the bid.

The 'Bugih? Campaign' was prepared through collaboration among Busan City, Korea Tourism Organization, Songdo Marine Cable Car, and Haeundae Blueline to create a supportive atmosphere for the 2030 Busan World Expo bid among domestic and international tourists ahead of the International Bureau of Expositions (BIE) on-site inspection scheduled for early April, aiming to heighten the civic enthusiasm for the bid.

All collaborating organizations agreed on the need to unite efforts to create a supportive atmosphere ahead of the BIE on-site inspection, and as a result of becoming one team and cooperating actively, the 'Bugih? Campaign' was realized.

The city expects that tourists visiting Busan, seeing 'Bugi' flying in the sky filled with support for the 2030 Busan World Expo bid in both western Busan where Songdo Marine Cable Car is located and eastern Busan where Haeundae Blueline Park is, will empathize more deeply with the bid.

The four collaborating organizations plan to sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU) based on their unity through the operation of Bugih?, including cooperation in Bugih? operation and campaign, and joint promotion of the 2030 Busan World Expo bid targeting domestic and international tourists using Bugih?.

The signing ceremony will be held at 2:30 p.m. on the 31st in the International Protocol Room at City Hall, with Busan Mayor Park Hyung-jun, Korea Tourism Organization President Kim Jang-sil, and heads of the collaborating organizations attending to sign the agreement and pledge their commitment to the successful bid for the 2030 Busan World Expo.

Mayor Park Hyung-jun said, "This campaign will be an opportunity to spread the enthusiasm for the 2030 Busan World Expo bid beyond Korea to the world," adding, "'Bugih?' is expected to provide a unique enjoyment to domestic and international tourists and citizens visiting Busan, while greatly contributing to creating a supportive atmosphere for the 2030 Busan World Expo bid."
