SK Enmove's lubricant brand ‘SK ZIC’ has ranked first for 25 consecutive years in the ‘2023 Korea Industry Brand Power (K-BPI)’ organized by the Korea Management Association Consulting (KMAC).
SK Enmove announced on the 27th that SK ZIC was selected as a Golden Brand in the K-BPI engine oil category. The Golden Brand refers to a representative brand that has ranked first for more than 10 consecutive years in K-BPI. Since the inception of K-BPI, SK ZIC has maintained the number one position in the engine oil category for 25 consecutive years.
Now in its 25th edition, K-BPI is a leading domestic brand diagnosis and evaluation system. It selects the best brands in each sector by quantifying brand awareness and loyalty for products and services representing various industries in consumer life.
SK Enmove, which exports base oils and finished lubricants?the raw materials of lubricants?to over 50 countries and more than 200 companies worldwide, is leading the premiumization of the domestic engine oil market. In 1995, it introduced SK ZIC, the first lubricant brand in the domestic refining industry, and pioneered the 100% synthetic oil market using Group III or higher base oils in Korea for the first time.
This was made possible as SK Enmove independently developed the Group III premium base oil ‘Yubase’. Group III base oils are mainly used in premium automotive lubricants, and SK Enmove holds the number one global market share in the Group III market. The excellent quality of SK ZIC, which has been upgraded from the raw materials, meets not only European engine oil standards (ACEA) and American engine oil standards (API) but also the stringent criteria of automobile manufacturers.
Leading the premium engine oil market, SK ZIC is expanding its touchpoints with customers. At the end of last year, it opened an online-exclusive mall that sells only genuine products and launched online-exclusive products ZIC X10 and X8. Customers can directly select and purchase products of better quality than those available in general distribution channels at reasonable prices through the online-exclusive mall.
Continuously launching new products, SK ZIC is also expanding its product lineup. SK ZIC supplies initial fill engine oils (oils filled at the vehicle factory stage) and automatic transmission fluids to major overseas automakers. It also provides gearbox oils to numerous global electric vehicle companies. Going forward, it plans to develop lubricants specialized for different electric vehicles to expand the market. Additionally, it is strengthening global brand awareness through sponsorship with the prestigious football club FC Barcelona.
