Dessert and Bakery Sales Increased by 30% Last Year

Lotte Department Store announced on the 27th that it will open the 'Noted World' flagship store for the first time on the 5th and 6th floors of Lotte World Mall in Jamsil on the 31st, covering approximately 1124㎡ (about 340 pyeong), attracting the MZ generation (Millennials + Gen Z) customers.


The dessert craze, which started along with the selfie culture of the 2030 generation, continues this year as well. Last year, Lotte Department Store's dessert and bakery sales increased by 30% compared to the previous year, and this year, it has maintained a high growth rate of 20% until the 23rd. 'Noted,' characterized by its charming visuals, has established itself as a cultural icon for the 2030 generation beyond just a dessert brand, boasting a loyal fan base. The popup held at Lotte World Mall in Jamsil last August attracted an average of 100,000 customers daily for two weeks. The popup currently ongoing at the Busan main store is also a hot topic every day with open runs and long waiting lines.

Lotte Department Store stated that the Noted World opening this time will feature cupcakes and over 40 popular goods that can only be found here. The signature products are eight types of cupcakes, including Rainbow Vanilla, Mint Choco, and Pistachio Cherry, developed exclusively for this Jamsil flagship store. They will also offer over 70 diverse food and beverage (F&B) menus, including best-selling donuts such as Milk Fresh Cream, Classic Vanilla, and Earl Grey. Noted World-exclusive packaging featuring illustrations of Lotte World Tower has also been prepared. Additionally, more than 40 types of goods using Noted's signature characters, such as dolls, tumblers, and cushions, will be showcased. To commemorate the opening, a scratch lottery event will be held, offering Smile Gift Sets, Limited Reusable Cups, and 3,000 won discount coupons.


Before entering the store, customers are greeted by a 6-meter-high large screen displaying a 3D video that captures Noted's concept and worldview. Inside, visitors can enjoy the spectacular view of Seokchon Lake through the full glass windows, and Noted sculptures created in collaboration with famous artists such as Seo Suhyun, Glory Hall, and Chogok-ri are installed throughout the store. On the 6th floor, a popup-exclusive space of approximately 331㎡ (about 100 pyeong) has been created to offer customers various pleasures. The first content to be introduced with the opening is an exhibition themed around cupcakes, the exclusive menu of the Noted World flagship store.


Meanwhile, Lotte Department Store plans to offer more diverse and unique F&B content in collaboration with Noted. In September last year, Lotte Department Store signed a business agreement with 'GFFG (Good Food For Good),' the operator of Noted, and has been working on menu and content development for Lotte Department Store. Following the opening of Noted World, a unique popup in collaboration with 'Bakery Blair' is planned for the Jamsil branch in May. Bakery Blair is a bakery specialty store newly launched by GFFG in Songridan-gil, Jamsil, gaining popularity mainly through social networking services (SNS).
