Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo-gu, attended the 2nd Mapo-gu Sports Council President's Badminton Tournament held at the Mapo-gu Citizens Sports Center on the morning of the 26th.


This badminton tournament was organized by the Mapo-gu Sports Council and the Mapo-gu Badminton Association to promote harmony and health among local badminton enthusiasts. Kim Hyang-ui, President of the Mapo-gu Badminton Association, along with about 430 players from 16 clubs, attended to celebrate the start of the tournament.


Before the tournament, Mayor Park Gang-su said, “I thank the Badminton Association President and officials for preparing this major tournament for many badminton enthusiasts in Mapo. Regardless of the outcome, all passionate players participating today are winners through their consistent exercise.”



Yangcheon-gu Holds 2023 Association President's Cup (Bae) Integrated Opening Ceremony for Each Sport

Lee Gi-jae, Mayor of Yangcheon-gu, attended the ‘2023 Association President's Cup (Bae) Integrated Opening Ceremony for Each Sport’ held on the morning of the 26th at the Yangcheon-gu Citizens Sports Center Auxiliary Gymnasium (2nd floor) and presented awards to contributors to community sports.


The district improved the previous method of holding separate tournaments for each of the 23 Association President's Cup (Bae) sports such as gateball, table tennis, jump rope, and volleyball, by introducing the ‘Integrated Opening Ceremony’ to foster harmony and communication.


About 200 people attended the integrated opening ceremony, including Mayor Lee Gi-jae, presidents of the 23 sports associations, awardees for community sports contributions, and guests from the sports council, energetically opening the tournaments for each sport running from April to July.


Mayor Lee Gi-jae, who presented awards to 18 contributors to community sports, said in his encouragement speech, “We will spare no support to densely expand the community sports infrastructure that contributes to citizens' health welfare and regional vitality. As the tournaments officially begin from April, I hope everyone will participate with great sportsmanship and passion.”
