Yongsan-gu Conducts Integrity Training for New Public Officials on March 21-22 at Yongsan Art Hall Cultural Lecture Room
Integrity training for 70 new employees... Senior public officials share stories of integrity and pass on know-how for public service life
Yongsan-gu held integrity training for new employees on March 21-22 at the Yongsan Art Hall Cultural Lecture Room.
The training targeted 70 rookie public officials newly appointed from November last year to February this year.
The training content was tailored to the perspective of probationary public officials entering the public sector, covering ▲Code of Conduct for Public Officials ▲Improper Solicitation and Graft Act ▲Anti-corruption laws and the meaning of integrity that public officials should know ▲Prevention of abuse of power, among others.
The instructor was Seong Ji-young, a veteran public official with 5 years of experience in integrity-related duties.
Officer Seong said, “As a senior public official, I want to convey the meaning of integrity demanded by this era and explain anti-corruption laws in an easy-to-understand way. Above all, I hope that the juniors who will navigate their public service life adapt well to the public sector and become outstanding public officials.”
Officer Seong completed the internal instructor training course at the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission’s Integrity Training Institute and has been directly lecturing new employees since last year.
Kim Seon-su, Acting Mayor of Yongsan-gu, said, “The biggest reason for achieving the highest grade in the 2022 Comprehensive Integrity Assessment is the dedicated effort put into integrity training for new public officials. I believe that honest rookies will grow into honest public officials.”
In addition to integrity training for new employees, the district conducts various anti-corruption education programs such as ▲Self-directed Integrity Learning ▲On-site Golden Bell Quiz ▲Field Visits to Exemplary Public Officials ▲Integrity Concerts to foster a culture of integrity in public service, and plans to continue integrity training upon new employee appointments in the future.
