Kim Kyung-wook, President of Incheon International Airport Corporation, has expressed his intention to resign about 10 months before the end of his term.
On the 24th, according to Incheon International Airport Corporation and related sources, Kim informed the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport that he plans to step down at the end of next month. Kim, a former Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, took office as President of Incheon International Airport in February 2021. His term is until February 1 of next year, leaving about 10 months remaining.
Kim stated, "I have decided to retire after the April management evaluation to ensure there is no disruption in airport operations," and added, "I will clarify my specific position next week."
Born in Chungju, Chungbuk, Kim graduated from Chungam High School and Seoul National University with a degree in Economics. He passed the 1989 civil service examination and began his public service career. He later served as Director General of Land Policy, Director General of Planning and Coordination, and Second Vice Minister at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
