Assemblyman Kim Hee-gon (People Power Party) Hosts National Assembly Seminar on Korean-style Token Securities (ST)

Member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea, Kim Hee-gon, plans to hold a seminar on April 6th (Thursday) at the National Assembly Members' Office Building Seminar Room 2 to discuss the direction for fostering a healthy industrial ecosystem in the Korean-style STO (hereinafter referred to as "token securities") market by understanding the institutional and regulatory status of the global STO (Security Token Offering) market.

This seminar is expected to cover discussions on understanding the institutional and regulatory status of the global STO market, as well as policies for activating the issuance and distribution of Korean-style token securities (ST: Security Token) and ensuring their stable operation.

Recently, token securities, which have been fully permitted for issuance by financial authorities, offer advantages such as low cost, simplicity, and speed compared to traditional securities issuance methods like stocks. Accordingly, the domestic token securities market is expected to achieve significant growth, and Assemblyman Kim Hee-gon has expressed his intention to continue efforts for the development of the domestic token securities market by paying close attention to this phenomenon.

The seminar will be attended by domestic and international token securities experts and representatives of related organizations to discuss the global STO system and regulatory status, as well as development plans for Korean-style token securities. Key panelists include Jeon Jung-hwon, newly elected president of IDAXA this year; Sandra Ro, Chairperson of the Global Blockchain Industry Committee; Loretta Joseph, Chair of the Financial Stability Board Working Group; and other prominent overseas figures. Domestic securities firms and related company officials, including Hana Securities, KB Securities, and Hanwha Investment & Securities, who are working to develop and stabilize the Korean-style token securities system, will also participate. Based on their diverse and extensive experience and opinions, in-depth discussions are expected to be held on measures to secure the stability and soundness of the domestic token securities market.

Assemblyman Kim Hee-gon stated, "The Republic of Korea is continuing efforts to develop the Korean-style token securities market alongside the growth of the global STO market. Through this seminar, we will discuss ways to ensure the stability and soundness of the domestic token securities market and actively support its development based on these discussions."

This seminar is organized and sponsored by aSSIST (Seoul School of Integrated Sciences and Technologies) Digital Finance Center (Professor Lee Kyung-geun), distributed ledger technology IT developer Rodians Holdings Co., Ltd. (CEO Yoon Chang-gi), token securities OTC trading platform operator Real Division Co., Ltd. (CEO Kim Chang-seop), and IDAXA International Digital Asset Exchange Association (President Jeon Jung-hwon).

This seminar is expected to make a significant contribution to the activation and soundness enhancement of the domestic token securities market.
