Simultaneous Worldwide Release at 1 PM on the 24th
Group 'Bangtan Sonyeondan' (BTS) member Jimin (28·Park Jimin) is embarking on solo activities for the first time in 10 years since his debut.
On the 24th, his agency Big Hit Music announced that Jimin will release his first solo album 'FACE' at 1 p.m.
The album title carries a double meaning of 'face' and 'to confront.' Big Hit Music explained, "In this solo album, Jimin expresses numerous emotions as he shows various sides of himself while reflecting on the past and fully confronting himself."
The album includes songs spanning multiple genres such as pop, hip-hop, and R&B. It features the pre-released track on the 17th, 'Set Me Free Pt.2,' the title track 'Like Crazy,' the trap soul genre song 'Face-off,' the dreamy instrumental sound of 'Interlude : Dive,' and the pop ballad 'Alone,' among others.
In particular, Jimin conveyed sincere emotions experienced during the COVID-19 pandemic over the past two years. He went through a process of overcoming loneliness and wandering behind a glamorous life through music.
Big Hit Music stated, "The emotional narrative of the songs in this album is organically connected. It reflects a flow of change from worries and emptiness to confronting the complete 'self' and preparing for a new beginning as artist Jimin with a firm will."
Jimin actively participated in the entire creative process from the planning stage of the album to the songs and music videos, showcasing his musical capabilities.
Jimin's unique strength in performance is also a highlight of the 'FACE' album. In the music video for the pre-released song 'Set Me Free Pt.2,' Jimin performed powerful choreography with dozens of dancers, and the performance for the title track 'Like Crazy' promises a different atmosphere from 'Set Me Free Pt.2.'
On the 24th and 25th (local time), Jimin will appear on the popular American NBC program 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon' and talk with host Jimmy Fallon about his new album, delivering the first live performance of 'Like Crazy.'
Starting with the Jimmy Fallon Show, Jimin plans to actively promote his solo album through various music and entertainment programs and content.
Since last year, BTS has been actively pursuing solo activities for its members. Following J-Hope, Jin, and RM, Jimin is the fourth member to embark on solo activities.
