Korea Expressway Corporation "Promoting National Policy Tasks Including Integration of Urban Air Mobility on Highways"

Korea Expressway Corporation announced on the 24th that it held the '2023 1st National Policy Task Promotion Committee' the previous day and reviewed the progress of 23 self-implementation tasks related to 120 government national policy tasks.

The committee has been held quarterly since the government national policy tasks were announced in July of last year. The corporation set the implementation task themes as future mobility power commercialization, support for efficient growth strategies of national land space, and convenient transportation innovation.

To commercialize future mobility power, 'Urban Air Mobility (UAM)' will be integrated with expressways. A smart logistics business utilizing the expressway network and advanced technology is also being promoted.

To support efficient growth of national land space, the corporation is promoting the construction of a 'Metropolitan Transportation Transfer Platform,' the creation of 'Open Rest Areas' accessible near expressways, and the expansion of 'Hi-Pass IC' (Interchange).

Additionally, the construction of a 'Deep Underground Expressway' supporting fast and convenient transportation innovation and the establishment of major arterial road networks to improve mobility within regions are also being pursued.

An official from the corporation said, "We will actively strive to operate the committee effectively so that we can become a public enterprise leading the achievement of government national policy tasks."
