The Jeonnam Fire Headquarters (Chief Hong Young-geun) announced on the 23rd that it held a ceremony to deliver safety facility supplies for wildfire and residential fire prevention in collaboration with Hite Jinro.
At the delivery ceremony, 12 people attended, including Fire Headquarters Chief Hong Young-geun, Kim Hyun-wook, Head of Hite Jinro Honam Region, and Park Ok-hee, President of the Jeonnam Volunteer Fire Brigade Women's Association.
The Jeonnam Fire Headquarters was selected for a support project promoted as part of a forest fire prevention campaign by Hite Jinro and the Korea Retired Firefighters Association, receiving supplies worth approximately 50 million KRW.
Starting in April, about 900 households using wood-fired boilers adjacent to forests in the province will be provided with residential simple sprinklers, automatic diffusion fire extinguishers, and fire alarm detectors.
The residential simple sprinkler system automatically sprays water through piping connected to the water supply in case of fire, and the automatic diffusion fire extinguisher automatically releases extinguishing agents when a fire occurs.
Additionally, the fire alarm detector, newly added to this support project, alerts residents to fire occurrences through sound, enabling prompt evacuation and response.
These facilities automatically detect and suppress fires, making them very useful in the early stages of a fire. Especially when installed in homes adjacent to forests, they help prevent residential fires and stop them from spreading into wildfires.
Chief Hong Young-geun stated, "Securing safety in residential facilities and preventing fires in homes with wood-fired boilers adjacent to forests will also contribute to wildfire prevention.”
