Changwon World Children's Literature Festival Steering Committee Meeting Held
Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam held the 2023 World Children's Literature Festival Steering Committee on the 23rd to ensure the smooth hosting of the Changwon World Children's Literature Festival.
The Changwon World Children's Literature Festival has been held every three years since 2011, following the launch of the integrated Changwon City in 2010 and the city's declaration as the capital of children's literature.
Now in its 4th edition, the World Children's Literature Festival is the only children's literature festival in Korea that unites domestic children's literature organizations and overseas children's literature networks. It promotes the cultural value of Changwon, the creative background of "Spring in My Hometown," through exchanges and cooperation of children's literature content from Europe, the United States, China, Japan, and other countries.
Changwon Special City held the World Children's Literature Festival Steering Committee meeting on the 23rd.
The meeting included reports on the 2017 project results, reports and consultations on the 2023 event promotion direction and detailed plans, Q&A sessions, and discussions on development plans.
As the festival is being held for the first time in six years due to COVID-19, various digital experience and exhibition programs will be operated to satisfy citizens' thirst for literature and to engage the digital native generation.
Jo Myung-rae, the 2nd Vice Mayor, said, "We will actively reflect the specific operational plans discussed at this meeting in hosting this year's festival," adding, "We will do our best to ensure that children can grow up healthy and happy through various customized services that meet their needs and desires."
