Hampyeong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that a butterfly release event wishing for the successful hosting of the '25th Hampyeong Butterfly Festival' was held on the afternoon of the 23rd at the Aquatic Plant Pavilion in Hampyeong Expo Park.
About 100 people attended the event, including Lee Sang-ik, the mayor of Hampyeong-gun, and Yoon Aeng-rang, the chairman of the Hampyeong County Council.

The attendees released 2,023 butterflies raised directly by the county, including tiger swallowtails and cabbage whites, into the sky, hoping for the successful hosting of the Butterfly Festival.
The 25th Hampyeong Butterfly Festival will be held under the theme "The Sound that Opens Spring, Hampyeong Butterfly Festival" from April 28 to May 7 at Hampyeong Expo Park.
This year’s festival will feature new programs such as the Eco-friendly Agriculture Pavilion, Butterfly Parade, and Ventriloquism Show, along with various events including making leaf butterflies and insects, and butterfly releases.
Mayor Lee Sang-ik said, “Over 600 public officials are putting their full effort into preparing for the successful hosting of the Butterfly Festival,” and added, “We ask for the great interest of tourists and residents.”
