Joint Safety Inspection Conducted with Related Agencies
Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam will conduct a joint on-site safety inspection for the 61st Jinhae Gunhangje Festival, which is resuming after 4 years, from the 23rd to the 24th. The joint inspection team consists of related organizations including the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, Gyeongsangnam-do Province, Changwon City, Changwon Fire Headquarters, Jinhae Police Station, Korea Electrical Safety Corporation, and Korea Gas Safety Corporation.
The city will conduct preliminary inspections for potential risks such as facility collapse, electric shock and fire caused by electrical leakage, explosion due to LPG gas leakage, drowning, and parking lot traffic accidents at fixed or temporary structures (stages, exhibition halls) within the festival venue, event auxiliary facilities (local restaurants, etc.), fireworks sites, parking lots, and beaches.

Minor issues found during the inspection will be immediately corrected on-site on the day of the inspection, and any insufficient safety management areas will be notified to be fully supplemented before the official start of the event. In addition, thorough follow-up management will be conducted to operate the festival safely without a single accident.
On the 23rd, Choi Man-rim, Deputy Governor of Gyeongsangnam-do, and Ha Jong-mok, First Deputy Mayor, jointly inspected the night market and Jinhaeru where the marine fireworks show will take place, Jungwon Rotary where the food market is installed, the public stadium where the opening ceremony and the ceremony will be held, and finally the deck road at Yeoja Stream for safety.
Deputy Mayor Ha said, “At the time when the spring outing season begins, various unexpected safety accidents may occur due to the excited atmosphere at the Jinhae Gunhangje Festival,” and urged, “During the event period, the event organizers and related organizations should maintain a close cooperative system to ensure that all visitors to the event venues can enjoy a safe festival and make every effort to manage safety at all event sites.”
