Changnyeong-gun Launches Water Conservation Campaign for 'World Water Day'

Changnyeong-gun and Changnyeong-gun Facilities Management Corporation in Gyeongnam conducted a water-saving campaign on the 22nd at the parking lot entrance of Changnyeong-gun Public Swimming Pool in celebration of 'World Water Day.'

'World Water Day' was designated as March 22 every year at the 47th United Nations General Assembly in 1992. Since 1995, the Korean government and local governments have held commemorative events to raise awareness of the importance of water and promote water conservation.

About 30 employees participated in the campaign, distributing water-saving practice leaflets and promotional wet tissues to citizens using the swimming pool, and carried out various promotional activities such as posting notices on reducing shower time and turning off faucets in changing rooms and on bulletin boards.

This was to inform future generations of the precious value of water and to build a consensus for action through the water-saving campaign.

A county official said, “We hope that World Water Day and this campaign will serve as an opportunity for citizens to recognize the importance of water.”
