The Korea Elevator Safety Agency (Chairman Lee Yong-pyo) Busan·Gyeongnam Regional Headquarters (Head Kim Young-hak) decided on the 22nd to begin full-scale activities for ‘elevator safety accident prevention’ and ‘energy-saving projects’.

The public institutions attending that day included 8 organizations: Busan City Hall, Busan Transportation Corporation, LH Korea Land and Housing Corporation, Korea Railroad Corporation, Korea Airports Corporation, Busan Urban Corporation, and Busan-Gimhae Light Rail Transit.
Through this meeting, it was decided to maximize the effect of spreading elevator safety culture by utilizing promotional media (LCD monitors and large electronic display boards) installed in each public institution to broadcast elevator safety accident prevention promotional videos.
Additionally, to prevent safety accidents involving persons with disabilities, safety guidelines for users of braille markings for the visually impaired will be produced, and collision prevention stickers for electric wheelchairs will be created and attached. For the prevention of safety accidents among elevator industry workers, risk factors of 4,130 elevators installed in public institutions will be identified, and improvement and removal work will be carried out.
As part of carbon reduction efforts, it was agreed to install energy-saving elevators (500 units) when replacing and installing aging elevators.
