An Increase of 68.1 Billion KRW (10.6%) Compared to the Original Budget
Wando-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Shin Woo-cheol) announced on the 23rd that the first supplementary budget for 2023, submitted to the Wando-gun Council on the 6th, was finally confirmed at 708.8 billion KRW.
The scale of this supplementary budget is 708.8 billion KRW, which is an increase of 68.1 billion KRW (10.6%) compared to this year's original budget of 640.7 billion KRW. The general account increased by 59.8 billion KRW (9.6%) to 683.5 billion KRW, and the special account increased by 8.3 billion KRW (48.8%) to 25.2 billion KRW.
Major supplementary budget items include 6.7 billion KRW for drought countermeasures, 1.2 billion KRW for the creation of Soan Sports Park, 1.1 billion KRW for repair and reinforcement of Bogil Jungtong Breakwater, 800 million KRW for purchasing land for the Gogeum agricultural machinery rental business site, 600 million KRW for supplying vaccines to prevent aquatic animal diseases, 500 million KRW for installing renewable solar smart security systems, 400 million KRW for village security CCTV installation projects, and 380 million KRW for creating parking lots around the county office.
Additionally, to support residents struggling with high inflation and high interest rates, 2.9 billion KRW was allocated for electricity bill support in the fisheries sector, 1.4 billion KRW for senior citizen job activity support, 420 million KRW for night operation support of passenger ships, 300 million KRW for passenger ship fare support, 420 million KRW for emergency heating costs for low-income elderly living alone, and 100 million KRW for agricultural electricity bill support.
In particular, to revive events and festivals that were suspended due to COVID-19, 1 billion KRW was additionally allocated for the Jeollanam-do Garden Festival and 200 million KRW for the provincial sports competition operation costs, aiming to invigorate the local economy.
Governor Shin Woo-cheol said, “We quickly finalized the supplementary budget to stabilize the lives of residents suffering from the recovery of daily life from COVID-19 and economic recession,” adding, “Since timing is crucial for all policy implementation and budgeting, we will promptly execute the budget and do our best to revive the livelihood economy.”
