Busan City and Air Busan Sign Additional Cooperation Agreement for 2030 Busan World Expo Bid

On the 23rd at 2 PM, Busan City will hold an additional business agreement signing ceremony with Air Busan at the City Hall International Protocol Room to cooperate in attracting the 2030 Busan World Expo.

This agreement follows the one signed last July between the two organizations to promote the attraction of the 2030 Busan World Expo and to build a broad civic consensus. It was arranged to promise additional mutual cooperation measures in preparation for the upcoming on-site inspection by the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE).

At the signing ceremony, Lee Seong-gwon, Vice Mayor for Economic Affairs, and Ahn Byung-seok, CEO of Air Busan, are scheduled to sign the memorandum of understanding.

So far, Air Busan has played a significant role as the region’s representative airline by continuing various promotional activities, including aircraft wrapping to support the attraction of the 2030 Busan World Expo, highlighting the charm of the city of Busan and the Expo itself.

With this business agreement, the two organizations will actively cooperate not only on domestic and international promotion for attracting the 2030 Busan World Expo and forming a nationwide consensus, as outlined in the previous agreement, but also in responding to the upcoming on-site inspection by the Bureau International des Expositions.

The city expects that this business agreement will serve as an opportunity to demonstrate to the BIE on-site inspection team the hosting candidate city Busan’s determination and capability to attract the 2030 World Expo, as well as the leading role local companies are playing in responding to the inspection and spreading enthusiasm for the bid.
