Urgent Production and Supply of Second Batch
Seven Eleven announced on the 23rd that the initial production volume of 100,000 units of Soju Hanjan, launched in collaboration with singer Lim Chang-jung, has sold out.
Seven Eleven officially launched Soju Hanjan, a premium distilled soju, on the 22nd of last month. According to Seven Eleven, Soju Hanjan immediately took the top spot in the distilled soju category upon release and rose to 5th place within the traditional liquor category. As a result, sales of distilled soju increased 4.5 times compared to the same period last year during the one month following the launch of Soju Hanjan. The second batch is currently being urgently produced and supplied.
Soju Hanjan also became a hot topic online. Videos such as the skit "Mission Im(Chang-jung)possible," starring Lim Chang-jung himself, and Lovelyz's "Soju Hanjan Highball Recipe" have recorded high view counts. So far, the combined views on Seven Eleven's YouTube channel Boksepyunse and Lim Chang-jung's official YouTube channel have exceeded 1 million.
A Seven Eleven representative said, "We aimed to create a generation-connecting liquor that suits both the MZ generation (Millennials + Gen Z) and middle-aged consumers, and it seems that this aspect has received positive responses both online and offline," adding, "We will continue to strive to create diverse customer experiences through differentiated liquor product planning."
