Mixed-Use Residential and Commercial Complex to Be Built in Gireum Market and Gangdong Station Area

A mixed-use residential and commercial building with up to 28 floors and a total of 320 households will be constructed in the Gireum Market area of Seongbuk-gu, Seoul.


On the 23rd, Seoul City announced that the architectural plans for the 'Gireum Market Redevelopment Project' and the 'Gangdong Station Area Revitalization Project' were approved at the Architecture Committee meeting held on the 21st.


The city will build a mixed-use building (320 households) ranging from 6 basement floors to 28 above-ground floors within 200 meters of Gireum Station on Subway Line 4, where Gireum Market was located. The project implementation plan approval is expected to be completed in the second half of the year.


Sales facilities will mainly be located from basement level 2 to the 2nd floor above ground, while public offices including a support center for single-person households will be housed from basement level 1 to the 1st floor above ground.

Near Gangdong Station on Line 5, a mixed-use building with up to 43 floors will be constructed. It will include one residential building with 294 households and four officetel buildings.


The residential building will feature various floor plans designed for households of 1 to 4 persons.


To revitalize the streets along Cheonho-daero and the adjacent side roads, local necessary facilities and commercial spaces will be arranged in the lower floors (basement level 2 to the 3rd floor above ground).
