Haenam-gun Holds Dalma-godo Healing Festival After 4 Years

'Our First Spring, Recharging with Dalma-godo' Spring Energy

Haenam-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 22nd that it will hold the "Haenam Dalmagodo Healing Festival" on the 25th under the theme "Our First Spring, Together with Dalmagodo" in the Dalmagodo area.

Dalmagodo is a 17.74 km circular trail created on Dalmasan Mountain, where the beautiful Mihwangsa Temple is located in the village of Ttangkkeut. Without using any heavy machinery, stones were carried by traditional Korean A-frame carriers called jige, and the old paths once traveled by the locals of Ttangkkeut were carefully restored by hand to minimize environmental damage and create the most comfortable walking trail for people.

Known as the "Santiago of Korea," it attracts tens of thousands of visitors annually and has emerged as a representative walking trail of the southern region. Moreover, over 20,000 people have completed the entire 7-hour course.

This festival, held for the first time in four years since COVID-19, offers an opportunity to leisurely enjoy spring while walking the premium handmade trail of Dalmagodo under the theme "Our First Spring, Together with Dalmagodo."

Additionally, a healing music concert featuring various performances such as forest busking, jazz, fusion gugak (traditional Korean music), and gayageum byeongchang (gayageum accompanied vocal music) will be held along the trail.

There will also be various attractions and activities including healing experience events like Nordic walking and meditation, SNS photo certification events, plogging challenges, and the Dalmamarket selling Haenam specialties.

On the day of the festival, shuttle buses will operate from Haenam-eup and the entrance of Seojeong Village in Songji-myeon to the festival site to minimize vehicle congestion.

For applications to healing experience events and more detailed information about the festival, please visit the Haenam-gun Culture and Tourism website or contact the Haenam-gun Office Tourism Division.

County Governor Myeong Hyeon-gwan said, "We hope many people will come and take time to heal their body and mind with the beautiful Dalmagodo in Haenam, the land where spring arrives first, and make a resolution for a new beginning."
