Busan Office of Education's Digital Education Policy Learned Abroad as Well

Busan Metropolitan Office of Education's digital education policy is gaining attention overseas.


A delegation from the Singapore Digital Strategy Headquarters, consisting of five members including Director Bernar Toh, visited the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education on the 21st to exchange information on Busan's digital education policy.


This exchange was made at the request of the Singapore Digital Strategy Headquarters, which expressed interest in applying Busan Metropolitan Office of Education's digital literacy education policy to Singapore's education system.

Busan Office of Education's Digital Education Policy Learned Abroad as Well Representatives from the Singapore Digital Strategy Headquarters and officials from the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education are taking a group commemorative photo.

The Digital Information Education Team of Busan Metropolitan Office of Education provided detailed explanations on key interests of the Singapore delegation, including ▲the current status of digital literacy education ▲experience in developing digital literacy textbooks for middle schools ▲operation and content of ‘Dilit,’ a digital literacy education support site.


They also introduced education policies aimed at ‘enhancing students' computational thinking skills,’ which the Singapore delegation showed interest in, such as ▲digital literacy and information education ▲expansion of instructional hours for information subject education ▲self-developed AI education materials for elementary and secondary schools.


Information was also exchanged regarding student ethics education and creative education utilization related to generative AI technologies, such as the recently spotlighted ChatGPT.


Superintendent Ha Yun-su stated, “The visit by the Singapore delegation will not only promote friendship between the two countries but also greatly assist in establishing new digital education policies in Singapore.”
