Jeju International Airport to Operate 'New Parking Lot' Starting from the 31st

Jeju International Airport announced on the 22nd that it will operate a 'new parking lot' starting from the 31st to alleviate parking congestion.

Jeju Airport had been experiencing chronic parking congestion due to an increase in users from the revitalization of Jeju tourism and a shortage of parking spaces.

Last year, it recorded 154 full-capacity days, marking the highest congestion level ever, and preparations were needed for the expected increase in parking demand following the easing of COVID-19 restrictions.

Accordingly, Korea Airports Corporation Jeju Airport has been promoting a parking lot construction project on the west side of Jeju Airport since 2021, investing about 19 billion KRW. In particular, the passenger parking lot construction was prioritized and is scheduled to open on the 31st, four months earlier than planned.

The newly established parking lot has 486 spaces, and as an opening event, a 50% discount on the maximum daily fee compared to existing parking lots will be offered to parking customers until June 30.

When using navigation, it can be searched as ‘P2 Janggi Parking Lot’, and entry and exit are possible via the internal road on the first floor of Jeju Airport.

Korea Airports Corporation Jeju Airport stated, “We advanced the construction and opened the passenger parking lot earlier than planned to improve the chronic congestion of Jeju Airport parking lots and enhance transportation convenience for customers using the airport,” adding, “We will continue to strive to develop various parking services.”
