Since the 11th, GS Engineering & Construction has installed outdoor promotional materials wishing for the success of the ‘2030 Busan World Expo bid’ at its Gran Seoul headquarters located in Jonggak. Additionally, in Busan, where the International Bureau of Expositions (BIE) inspection team will visit early next month to decide on the 2030 World Expo host city, GS Engineering & Construction has installed a large exterior banner on the facade of its Jaegallery in Yeonsan-dong, Busan, to support the bid.
Both Gran Seoul and the Jaegallery in Yeonsan-dong, Busan?landmark buildings of GS Engineering & Construction?are located in areas with high commuter traffic and many foreign tourists, so the promotional effect is expected to be even greater.
GS Engineering & Construction is also encouraging employee participation. Along the passage from Jonggak Station on Subway Line 1, where many GS employees commute, large billboards are being used for promotion. Furthermore, the company cafeteria offered special meals featuring foods that can be enjoyed during a trip to Busan as a menu wishing for the success of the Busan Expo bid.
Last September, GS Group formed the ‘2030 Busan Expo Bid Support Task Force (TF)’ to combine the capabilities of its affiliates and create synergy in supporting the Busan Expo bid. Led by Woo Moo-hyun, President of GS Engineering & Construction (TF leader), senior executives from major affiliates including GS Corporation, GS Engineering & Construction, GS Retail, GS Caltex, GS Global, and GS Sports are participating in various support activities for the Busan Expo bid.
Woo Moo-hyun, President of GS Engineering & Construction and leader of the GS Group 2030 Busan Expo Bid Support TF, stated, “We judged that utilizing GS Engineering & Construction’s landmark buildings to draw enthusiasm from citizens and tourists for the 2030 Busan World Expo bid would be the most effective approach. We also thought it was desirable for employees to unite in support of the bid, which led us to carry out these support activities. We will do our best at the company level to support the Expo bid until the BIE inspection team’s visit in early April and the host city selection in November.”
