On the 22nd, Ahn Hyeong-ju, a member of the Gwangju Seo-gu Council, announced that the "Ordinance on the Honor and Support for Military Service Distinguished Families in Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City" was passed at the 310th extraordinary session of the plenary meeting.
The ordinance was prepared to widely promote families distinguished by military service, whose three generations have all faithfully completed active duty, and to establish the 'noblesse oblige' of military service throughout our society by stipulating necessary matters for their honor and support.
Councilor Ahn outlined the main contents of the ordinance as ▲ regulations on military service distinguished families ▲ honor and promotion of military service distinguished families ▲ fee reduction benefits for honorees and their families ▲ cooperation among related institutions and organizations.
Councilor Ahn stated, "I believe that the enactment of this ordinance will greatly contribute to enhancing the honor and pride of military service distinguished families in the district," and added, "I will continue to pay attention to preferential treatment and support for military service distinguished families and strive to improve the system."
