Dong-A University Department of Fashion Design Holds Hyeam Scholarship Award Ceremony

The Department of Fashion Design at Dong-A University held the '2023 Spring Semester Hyeam Scholarship Award Ceremony' on the 21st at the Design and Environment College lecture room on Dong-A University's Seunghak Campus.

At the award ceremony, fashion design students Jo Minhee, Kim Yujin, and Kang Minji each received a scholarship of 1 million KRW, totaling 3 million KRW.

The Hyeam Scholarship is named after the pen name 'Hyeam (蕙岩)' of Professor Emeritus Shim Buja of the Department of Fashion Design and has been awarded every semester since September 2011. To date, a total of 73.5 million KRW in scholarships has been granted.

Professor Emeritus Shim has been steadily donating funds to the department every year to nurture professionals specialized in fashion design.

Kang Minji, who received the scholarship on this day, expressed, "I will consider this as a driving force to work even harder and always do my best in my studies."

Students Jo Minhee and Kim Yujin said, "We are grateful for this opportunity and to be part of such a meaningful occasion," adding, "We will continue to work harder toward our goals and dreams."

Department Head Lee Sunhee encouraged the scholarship recipients, saying, "I hope you take pride in the scholarship certificate given by Professor Emeritus Shim Buja and become dedicated fashion professionals."
