Samsung Pay to Link with Naver Pay Starting Tomorrow... Also Supports Visa Cards

[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Su-yeon] Samsung Pay is countering the arrival of Apple Pay. It is expanding its services by collaborating with Naver Pay and supporting Visa cards for overseas payments.

Samsung Electronics announced that the collaboration service between Samsung Pay and Naver Pay will begin on the 23rd.

Users of Samsung Pay and Naver Pay will be able to enjoy a more enhanced online and offline payment experience.

First, the online payment experience of Samsung Pay will be strengthened. Samsung Pay users will be able to use easy payment through Samsung Pay at 550,000 Naver Pay online order-type merchants, including Naver Smart Store.

When ordering products at Naver Pay online order-type merchants, clicking 'General Payment' will generate a separate 'Samsung Pay' menu. This allows faster and more convenient payment via Samsung Pay.

Naver Pay's offline payment experience is also scheduled to be implemented within this month. Naver Pay users will be able to use Naver Pay's offline payment at all offline merchants nationwide where Samsung Pay is accepted, through Samsung Pay's Magnetic Secure Transmission (MST) payment method.

Last month, Samsung Electronics and Naver Financial signed a business agreement to activate the mobile payment experience. The two companies will continue to cooperate for a more convenient digital life for users in the payment and wallet sectors.

Samsung Pay has recently accelerated improvements in user convenience. While it previously supported only Mastercard for overseas payments, it will also support Visa cards starting from the 27th. Additionally, it plans to add high-speed bus boarding pass information along with airline boarding passes, and provide services for Hana Card and student IDs.
