Chinese President Xi Jinping invited Russian President Vladimir Putin to visit China.
According to TASS and other sources on the 21st (local time), President Xi said during a meeting with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin in Moscow, "Yesterday, I officially invited President Putin to visit China within this year."
This is interpreted as a response to the invitation extended by President Putin during the bilateral video conference between the two countries last December, which led to this state visit.
President Xi stated, "We chose Russia as the first overseas destination for the Chinese leader," adding, "This aligns with the historical logic as a neighboring great power and a comprehensive strategic partner."
Prime Minister Mishustin said, "The relationship between the two countries has reached its highest point in centuries and is influencing the formation of the global agenda based on the logic of multipolarity."
