The 'Korea-Japan Governors' Meeting,' where regional leaders from Korea and Japan convene, will be held for the first time in six years.
Kyodo News reported this on the 21st. According to the report, the Korea-Japan Governors' Meeting will take place this November in Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan.
The Korea-Japan Governors' Meeting had been suspended for six years due to deteriorating bilateral relations and COVID-19 since the 6th meeting held in Busan in November 2017.
Earlier, Lee Cheol-woo, Governor of Gyeongsangbuk-do and Chairman of the Korean Council of Governors, met with Hirai Shinji, Governor of Tottori Prefecture and Chairman of the Japan Council of Governors, in Tokyo last January and agreed to hold the Korea-Japan Governors' Meeting in the second half of this year.
The participants and agenda of the meeting have not yet been decided.
