During Taiwan President Tsai Ing-wen's Visit to the U.S....China "Strongly Opposes"

Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen has officially announced her visit to the United States.

The Office of the President of Taiwan stated on the 21st that President Tsai will visit two Central American countries, Guatemala and Belize, from the 29th of this month for a 9-night, 10-day trip, with stopovers in New York and Los Angeles, USA.

President Tsai will depart from Taiwan on the 29th, spend time in New York starting on the 30th, and arrive in Guatemala on the 1st of next month. Afterwards, she plans to transit through Los Angeles on the 5th and return to Taiwan on the 7th.

China strongly criticized the visit, saying it violates the "One China" principle. Wang Wenbin, spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said at a regular briefing that day, "We oppose any visit by Taiwan's leader to the United States for any reason," adding that "the United States is violating the 'One China' principle."
