Gyeonggi Provincial Assembly Member Kim Min-ho "42 Cases of Sexual Misconduct in the Provincial Office of Education Over 3 Years... Urges Strict Punishment"

Gyeonggi Provincial Assembly Member Kim Min-ho "42 Cases of Sexual Misconduct in the Provincial Office of Education Over 3 Years... Urges Strict Punishment" Kim Min-ho, a member of the Gyeonggi Provincial Council, is questioning at the Education Administration Committee held on the 20th.

It has been confirmed that a total of 42 cases of sexual harassment and other sexual misconduct incidents occurred in the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education over the past three years. In particular, it was revealed that immediate personnel actions were not taken against staff members disciplined for child abuse or sexual misconduct.

On the 20th, during the Education Administration Committee meeting, Kim Min-ho, a member of the Gyeonggi Provincial Council (People Power Party, Yangju 2), stated, "In the past three years, there have been a total of 42 sexual misconduct cases in schools under the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education, including 29 cases of sexual harassment, 8 cases of physical contact, and 5 cases of sexual assault," and emphasized, "Sexual misconduct incidents involving public officials working in schools must be punished more severely."

He continued, "Immediate personnel measures have not been taken against staff members disciplined for child abuse or sexual misconduct," strongly criticizing the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education for its lax public service discipline.

However, Assemblyman Kim also urged caution, saying, "In cases where there is only testimony without clear evidence, care must be taken during audits or investigations to ensure that innocent people are not wrongly labeled as perpetrators."
