The stay period for second-half seasonal workers is 5 months from the date of entry (E-8 visa), with work scheduled from October to February 2024.

Employers hiring foreign seasonal workers must comply with several mandatory conditions: ▲ providing adequate housing accommodations ▲ equipping essential facilities and supplies ▲ mandatory enrollment in industrial accident insurance ▲ paying wages above the minimum wage ▲ guaranteeing work for at least 113 days.

Rest and holidays must be guaranteed at a minimum of one day per week or four days per month, and for overtime or night work beyond the basic 8-hour workday, employers must pay 1.5 times the regular wage as a premium.

After the application period ends, the results will be submitted to the Changwon Immigration Office, and after a preliminary review, the Ministry of Justice will finalize the number of workers assigned.

In September, employers and seasonal workers are expected to sign labor contracts and begin work starting in October.

The county plans to promote agreements with other countries in the future to ensure a stable supply of rural labor, addressing issues such as labor shortages and rising labor costs in rural areas.

Meanwhile, since last year, the county has signed an MOU with Laos and has employed 246 seasonal workers in three rounds up to this year.
