Hyundai Home Shopping is conducting a global campaign to donate clothing to Tanzania, Africa, together with customers as part of its ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management efforts.

On the 21st, Hyundai Home Shopping announced that it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to promote the African clothing donation campaign "Our Earth, Let's Wear Together" with the Embassy of Tanzania in Korea and Daegu Fatima Hospital. The signing ceremony held at the headquarters in Cheonho-dong, Gangdong-gu, Seoul, was attended by Hyundai Home Shopping President Lim Dae-gyu, Togolani Edris Mabura, Ambassador of Tanzania to Korea, and Kim Sun-mi, Director of Daegu Fatima Hospital. Under this agreement, the Embassy of Tanzania in Korea will support procedures such as clothing customs clearance in consultation with relevant Tanzanian agencies, and Daegu Fatima Hospital will assist by utilizing local medical institutions as distribution points for the clothing.

Hyundai Home Shopping planned this campaign as part of the "Regreen·We Dream" strategy, Hyundai Department Store Group’s integrated ESG brand. The goal is to improve living conditions in impoverished countries through resource circulation and to contribute to solving environmental pollution caused by clothing waste. Since launching the integrated eco-friendly and social contribution brand Regreen·We Dream in April last year to enhance sincere ESG management, Hyundai Department Store Group’s affiliates have been continuing related projects.

Hyundai Home Shopping’s "Our Earth, Let's Wear Together" campaign is the first African clothing donation campaign attempted by a domestic home shopping company. It collects clothes that customers no longer wear, then sorts and cleans them before delivering them to Tanzania in East Africa.

From the 27th of this month to the 16th of next month, Hyundai Home Shopping will recruit participating customers through its official online mall, Hyundai H Mall, for three weeks. Each customer can donate up to five pieces of clothing, and if they leave a box containing the clothes at their door, Hyundai Home Shopping will send a delivery driver to collect it. All participating customers will receive 3,000 H Points, the integrated membership points of Hyundai Department Store Group.

Hyundai Home Shopping plans to add its private brand (PB) and newly purchased clothing items to the donated volume from customers, sending a total of 50,000 pieces of clothing to Tanzania. The donated clothing will undergo thorough inspection, including sorting and cleaning, and will be delivered to the residents of "Uwemba," who lack essential daily necessities in Tanzania.

Starting with this campaign, Hyundai Home Shopping plans to expand various global ESG campaigns in the future. Based on local demand surveys, it is also considering expanding donation items to include women’s products, educational equipment, and medical devices.

Lim Dae-gyu, President of Hyundai Home Shopping, said, "Although the home shopping business operates in a non-face-to-face manner, we find it especially meaningful that social contribution activities with customers can broaden our contact points and build intimacy with them. We will continue to actively promote various campaigns that fulfill corporate social responsibility in eco-friendly and social contribution areas, allowing customers to participate and feel rewarded."
