Since taking office, Mayor Kim has been establishing institutional foundations for the true independence of socially vulnerable groups and the creation of sustainable and stable jobs, and this marks the first step toward that goal.
The newly launched ‘Gangseo New Media Support Center’ helps socially vulnerable groups, including people with disabilities, quickly adapt to and utilize the new media environment by supporting the production of specialized content and the operation of YouTube channels for socially vulnerable groups.
The first project of the center is the ‘Gangseo Together’ project. The district plans to elicit social empathy by sincerely showing various situations experienced by socially vulnerable groups in daily life and their appearances in the workplace.
In particular, the plan is to realize the true independence of socially vulnerable groups through their economic activities as a continuation of this effort.
The plaque unveiling ceremony for the ‘Gangseo New Media Support Center’ was attended by Kim Tae-woo, Mayor of Gangseo-gu, Kim Yong-je, President of the Gangseo-gu Federation of Organizations for the Disabled, and Yang Jeom-dong, President of the Seoul Association of the Physically Disabled Gangseo Branch, adding significance to the event.

We will do our best to operate the center so that it can serve not only to support the true independence of socially vulnerable groups such as people with disabilities but also as a reliable partner for job creation and laying the foundation for regional community growth.”

At the conference, about 1,000 students from around the world participated, debating for and against the theme ‘Education, Opening a New Chapter,’ and also shared their countries’ cultures.
Geumcheon-gu students prepared for the conference by collecting ideas and materials through pre-education sessions held since September.
Students who participated in the conference said, “We had a meaningful time discussing global issues from various perspectives with youth from around the world.”
Mayor Yoo Seong-hoon said, “I hope students gain a broad perspective through debates during their youth. We will continue to create various programs to support students in growing into global leaders.”
