20 Million KRW for Apartment Complexes, 3 Million KRW for General Houses
Ordinance Enacted to Support Installation of Flood Prevention Facilities
Gyeongsangnam-do Province will provide financial support for the installation of 'water barrier panels' to prepare for flooding in general houses and apartment complexes within the province.
On the 20th, Gyeongsangnam-do announced that this support aims to prevent safety accidents and protect lives and property from heavy summer rains and typhoons.
Priority support will be given to apartment complexes that have applied for assistance among underground parking lots of multi-family housing that have experienced flooding damage in the past.
Support will also be expanded to general houses that apply for assistance after a demand survey is conducted.
Up to 20 million KRW will be supported for multi-family housing, and up to 3 million KRW for general houses.
The province plans to enact the 'Flood Prevention Facility Installation Support Ordinance' within the first half of the year to establish specific grounds for installing flood prevention facilities such as water barrier panels, reflecting the growing importance of such facilities.
It is also encouraging cities and counties within the province to enact similar ordinances within the first half of the year.
A provincial official stated, “We will complete the installation of flood prevention facilities by the end of June to actively prepare for the summer rainy season,” and added, “By enacting related ordinances, we will expand the installation of flood prevention facilities such as water barrier panels.”
