CSA to Hold Smart Home Member Meeting from 20th to 23rd
Samsung Electronics will participate in the Global Smart Home Standard Member Meeting held for four days from the 20th at the Conrad Hotel in Seoul.
This event is organized by the smart home global standard alliance CSA, inviting 134 member companies and over 500 members to discuss and debate technical topics necessary for smart home implementation, such as the Matter standard and data privacy. It is the first meeting since CSA announced the new connectivity standard Matter 1.0 last October. The event will review the application progress since the Matter announcement and discuss company-specific strategies and industry collaboration models.
Samsung Electronics has participated as a CSA board member since the early development of the Matter standard. Recently, it launched smart TVs, smart monitors, and SmartThings Station that support the Matter controller function. At this event, Samsung will introduce the SmartThings platform strategy suitable for the Matter standard and showcase key features such as automation through the SmartThings Station product.
Jae-Yeon Jung, Vice President of Samsung Electronics’ Device Platform Center, will deliver the keynote speech on the 20th. He will explain how Samsung is leading the popularization of the Internet of Things (IoT) by embedding Matter technology in the recently launched SmartThings Station, enabling more consumers to experience smart homes.
Vice President Jung said, “Industry standard discussions among major companies are essential for customers to conveniently and reliably implement personalized smart homes in their daily lives,” adding, “We will actively participate in establishing the Matter standard based on the SmartThings platform and seek collaboration among companies.”
