UAE Economic Group Holdings Trade Cooperation Agreement
Kim Du-gyeom, the mayor of Ulsan, is going all-in on trade and investment attraction, targeting the Middle Eastern market. Currently serving as the head of the overseas delegation, Mayor Kim is now called Ulsan’s No. 1 salesman.
On the 18th morning, Ulsan City announced that the Ulsan overseas delegation, led by Mayor Kim, signed an MOU for trade cooperation with Economic Group Holdings (EGH) of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in Sharjah at 2 p.m. on the 17th (7 p.m. Korean time).
This business agreement aims to strengthen trade and investment between Ulsan City and EGH and to promote cooperative projects for mutual economic exchange activation.
Ulsan City and EGH will promote cooperation projects such as ▲supporting trade activities ▲sharing information for trade and investment collaboration and development ▲mutual exhibitions, fairs, large-scale conferences, and promotions for economic cooperation ▲business consultations, seminars, and other collaborative projects.
Founded in 2005, EGH has about 50 member companies. It is a company providing services in transportation, manufacturing, real estate, food and beverage, information technology, trade, automotive spare parts, medical, sports, and logistics, with approximately 16,000 employees.
Earlier, Economic Group Holdings signed an MOU for trade cooperation with ‘Chloe Su,’ a traditional craft company in the Ulsan region.
Chloe Su is a Chilbo craft company and the first in Ulsan to introduce a jewelry brand to the United Arab Emirates.
Mayor Kim Du-gyeom of Ulsan said, “Despite difficult external conditions last year, Ulsan’s export volume exceeded $90 billion for the first time in eight years. We will enter the Middle Eastern market, including the UAE, with competitive products in key industries such as automobiles, shipbuilding, and petrochemicals, and write a new history of $100 billion in exports.”
Sheikh Majid Hamad Majid Saqar AlQassimi, CEO of Economic Group Holdings, said, “We are pleased to establish a cooperative relationship with Ulsan City, as we have great interest in Korea’s petrochemical industry as well as various other businesses. We will continue to cooperate for economic development and help excellent Ulsan products enter the UAE and Middle Eastern markets.”
