Gwangyang City Signs Business Agreement with Coffee Bean Korea Co., Ltd.

Development of Maesil Food Industry and Cooperation for Win-Win with Local Farmers

On the 17th (Friday), Gwangyang City in Jeollanam-do announced that it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Coffee Bean Korea Co., Ltd. at the Gwangyang City Hall reception room to promote the consumption of Gwangyang Maesil and foster mutual growth with local farmers.

The signing ceremony was attended by 10 people, including Jeong In-hwa, Mayor of Gwangyang, the Director of the Agricultural Technology Center, the Head of the Maesil Policy Team, the President of the Gwangyang Maesil Research Association, and Gam Jong-cheol, CEO of Coffee Bean Korea Co., Ltd.

This agreement was established for the joint purpose of developing Gwangyang’s Maesil food industry and promoting mutual benefits between Gwangyang City and Coffee Bean Korea Co., Ltd., aiming to actively cooperate in the production management, promotion, and mutual growth of local Maesil farms.

During the agreement process, the city pledged to actively cooperate with administrative support such as arranging suppliers to ensure a stable supply of Gwangyang Maesil, while Coffee Bean Korea Co., Ltd. agreed to prioritize purchasing and using Gwangyang Maesil and actively cooperate in promoting the production area.

Through this agreement, the city plans to supply 12 tons of two-year-aged yellow Maesil syrup to Coffee Bean Korea Co., Ltd. to promote the supply of Gwangyang Maesil.

Additionally, Coffee Bean Korea Co., Ltd. plans to launch a new menu item called ‘Gwangyang Hwang Maesil Sparkling,’ made from Gwangyang Maesil, on the 21st.

Jeong In-hwa, Mayor of Gwangyang, said, “Through this agreement, we will launch Maesil beverages that suit the tastes of the MZ generation using Gwangyang Maesil, thereby raising awareness of Gwangyang Maesil among future consumers, enhancing its image, and promoting mutual growth with local farmers.”
